Professional Growth
Graduate study in Veterinary Medical Sciences expanded my understanding of animal health beyond individual patient care. Through coursework in infectious disease management, public health, population health, behavior, research, and shelter medicine, I developed a broader perspective on the biological, environmental, and regulatory factors that influence animal health and welfare.
How have I grown?
My graduate education strengthened my ability to evaluate animal health from both clinical and population-level perspectives. Shelter medicine served as a practical framework for integrating epidemiology, behavior, public health, welfare science, and policy into real-world decision-making. That experience broadened how I approach complex veterinary problems.

My graduate training strengthened my skills in scientific research, infectious disease management, welfare assessment, population health, policy analysis, technical writing, and evidence-based decision-making. Where am I headed next?
Entering veterinary school
My next goal is to attend veterinary school and continue building the medical knowledge, clinical judgment, and technical skills required to become a veterinarian.
Bringing shelter medicine forward
I plan to build on my graduate foundation in infectious disease, public health, animal welfare, research, and population health while expanding my clinical knowledge and experience.
Expanding clinical perspective
I intend to further develop my knowledge of companion and exotic animal medicine, conservation science, wildlife regulation, and exotic animal advocacy.
